Comedienne Roseanne Barr along with the restaurant Planet Hollywood and King World was attempting to create the series where it was intended to be paired with a revival of The Gong Show (which did in fact had a pilot taped) but was held off until 1997 to see if the revivals of The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game were working out. By that time, Roseanne presumably had pulled out of the project while the restaurant chain was in deep trouble.
